Asscher diamonds, lab-grown and natural

The Asscher is a square step cut with large cut corners. Cut well, it shows a windmill of squares stepping down to the centre: quiet, elegant and Art Deco.

Every Asscher we sell is certified by GIA, IGI or HRD and has a 360° video, so you can check its clarity and its windmill before you buy.

Our advice

“When an Asscher is cut well you see a windmill of squares stepping down to the centre. It’s a quiet, elegant stone; like the emerald, put your budget into clarity.”

Asscher diamond questions

What size is a 1 carat Asscher diamond?

About 5.4 to 5.7 mm on each side. Like other squares, it faces up smaller than a round of the same weight.

Does an Asscher need a higher clarity?

Yes. As a step cut it shows what is inside, so we start at VS2 and F–G and check every stone on video.

Asscher or square emerald?

Both are square step cuts. The Asscher has larger cut corners and a taller, windmill look; the square emerald is flatter, with smaller corners.
