What size diamond can I get for $2,000?
What $1,000, $2,000 and $3,000 can buy, and where to spend first.
With $2,000 CAD, most couples choose a lab-grown diamond of about 1.5 to 2 carats with an excellent cut, G–H colour and an eye-clean clarity. At $1,000, think about 1 carat. At $3,000, 2 carats or more becomes realistic. Spend on cut first, because it controls sparkle. Then choose the lowest colour and clarity that still look perfect to the eye.
