Emerald cut: the hall of mirrors
Elegant, calm flashes of light, and a cut that hides nothing.
An emerald cut uses long step facets that flash like a hall of mirrors instead of sparkling. It's elegant and timeless, and it shows everything. Inclusions and colour are much easier to see than in a brilliant cut, so aim for VS1–VS2 and a colour one grade higher than you would for a round. Classic proportions run from about 1.40 to 1.60 in length-to-width ratio. Watch for a "window", a washed-out centre where light passes straight through. The 360° video makes it easy to spot.
